Happy Chicken CSA

Whole Chickens from Field to Table
What Is a CSA?

The abbreviation CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. This growing concept allows customers to buy “shares” of the food grown by the farm.

Generally paid for at the start of the year. These shares are dispersed periodically throughout the growing season ensuring peak freshness and a reliable supply of locally grown food.

CSA Benefits

Operating a CSA is beneficial for our farm in many ways:

1. Helps us greatly by lessening the stress low cash flow brings during the start of the season

2. Allows us to have more face-to-face time with our customers through frequent pickup days, enabling us to get feedback and make adjustments based on customer input

3. Enables us to better estimate how many chickens we need to raise based on sign-ups, allowing us to utilize our pastures and maximize the soil building potential

4. Save our customers money. Subscribing to the Traditional CSA offers a substantial discount. The weekly option is a 15% discount, while the bi-weekly is a 10% discount when compared to buying a whole chicken every week at farmers market

Customers subscribe to our weekly or bi-weekly program and receive 4-6 lb whole chickens. This option is perfect for families and makes dinner planning less of a chore during the busy week.

The CSA programs run from May-October during our growing season.

We offer four CSA pickup days per month (once per week) when customers can get their chicken. Our chickens are harvested every other week to ensure they are as fresh and tasty as possible.
